Week Twenty-Four marks the 24th anniversary of the first concert that I ever attended on October 14, 1988, at Texas Stadium in Irving, TX - The Bangles & George Michael -

Back when I worked at Jason's Deli, one of my co-workers and I were always giving each other the hardest time about one another's musical tastes. He hated what he referred to as my "gay-@ss Brit-Pop bands," and I hated what I referred to as his "lame-@ss Cock-Rock bands".
However, very, very late at night, when we were shutting the deli down, this song by The Bangles would often come on, and we both agreed that this tune totally rocked. We would start crooning along at the top of our lungs while mopping floors and wiping out the salad bar.
It really is a very lovely tune, and I had never in my life seen so many cigarette lighters in one place as I did the night that The Bangles sang this in Texas Stadium. Fortunately for me, my dad smoked at the time, so he came prepared with a cigarette lighter. Unfortunately for me, I had no idea how hot those things got, and I burnt my poor little thumb so severely. It was so worth the blister that I carried around for weeks though to have that experience!!!
