Week Twenty-Four: First Concert Ever - George Michael - "Faith" - Faith

Week Twenty-Four marks the 24th anniversary of the first concert that I ever attended on October 14, 1988, at Texas Stadium in Irving, TX - The Bangles & George Michael -

So this was the album for which George Michael was touring, and I could not wait to hear this song performed live!  I cannot even tell you how many dances I came up with in my room to this tune, but I eventually performed one of them in the school talent show and won second place, coming in closely behind my best friend's dance to Michael Jackson's song, "Bad".  However, she attended Kitty Carter's Dance Factory, so what would you expect, honestly?

I also scored my first concert t-shirt that night, which was the album cover of Faith, and I was so proud of it, that I wore it to my very first basketball practice the day after the concert.  Then I'm fairly certain that I wore it almost every single day after I arrived home and changed out of my school uniform for a minimum of at least a week!  I felt as if it had some type of magical power almost --- like it was a connection to George Michael, himself!

The next item I was determined to score was a leather motorcycle jacket because George Michael looked so incredibly suave in the leather jacket he wore that night. Unfortunately, I don't think I acquired one of those until I was in at least the 8th or 9th grade.
