Week Ten: Depeche Mode - "Dangerous" - Personal Jesus Single

This little tune is such a well-kept secret tucked away safely on the B-side of the "Personal Jesus" single.  It is such a SEXY little song, and it makes me want to be DANGEROUS --- whatever that is exactly at this particular time in my life.

One of the DJs at the Lizard Lounge would spin this single on occasion, and what a pure ecstatic treat it was!!  I'm thinking that since it backed "Personal Jesus" and since "Personal Jesus" was such a hit for them (I mean, even Johnny Cash covered it), that might be the reason that "Dangerous" never received a great deal of recognition.

Just a side-note: Did you know that "Personal Jesus" was written based on a book by Priscilla Presley?  Apparently Martin Gore made parallels between Elvis being sort of a personal saviour for Priscilla and how people can sometimes play that role for one another while on earth.

The things you do
Aren't good for my health
The moves you make

You make for yourself
The means you use
Aren't meant to confuse
Although they do
They're the one's that I would choose

I wouldn't want it any other way
You wouldn't let me any way

Dangerous
The way you leave me wanting more
Dangerous
That's what I want you for

Dangerous
When I am in your arms
Dangerous
Know I won't come to harm

The lies you tell
Aren't meant to deceive
They're not there
For me to believe
I've heard
Your vicious words
You know by now
It takes a lot to see me hurt

I couldn't take it any other way
But there's a price I have to pay
