Week Eleven: Elvis Presley - "Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear to Tread)" - Elvis Presley: From the Heart (Disc 2)

While I am fully aware that Elvis neither wrote the music nor the lyrics to this tune, I feel that his cover of it is the best out of the dozen or so popular artists who have tackled it over the years.

Every time I hear this song, I can't help but want to do a little jig around the house.  It's such a sweet and simple song, and Elvis just nails it with his phrasing and voice.

If I could find a fella like my dear Elvis, I would gladly rush in like any other fool!!! :-D

I would also like to award a second and third place winner for covering this song.  In second place is... She & Him.  And in third place is... Bow Wow Wow.  In fact, the Bow Wow Wow cover made it into Sofia Coppola's film, Marie Antoinette!  I've added youtube clips of these two bands below for your own individual comparison.

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread
And so I come to you, my love, my heart above my head.
Though I see the danger there
If there's a chance for me, then I don't care

Fools rush in where wise men never go
But wise men never fall in love, so how are they to know?
When we met, I felt my life begin
So open up your heart and let this fool rush in (x2)

Just open up your heart and let this fool rush in
So open up your heart and let this fool rush in
