Week Twenty-Seven: Twenty Years of Moz - Morrissey - "My Love Life" - Single

Week Twenty-Seven marks the 20th anniversary of my very first Morrissey concert that took place on November 4, 1992, at Reunion Arena, on his Your Arsenal tour

Pardon me for a moment while I wipe the drool off my keyboard... I just finished watching the video for this lovely, little tune for the umpteenth time.  Have you ever seen so many handsome young gentlemen piled into one automobile... oh, my?!?!?!

Poor Morrissey... there has been such speculation about his love life and his sexuality and his preference over the years.  Regardless, he has always adopted the same attitude of: "Who cares... because it is none of your business?!?!?"

Whether he is claiming celibacy (or a hiatus from celibacy), Morrissey has always intrigued people with the complete level of privacy that he demands when it comes to his love life... and that is just one more of the many reasons that I absolutely admire him!

On a lighter note, I made it out to the Sunglasses & Sugar show this past Saturday at The Barley House, and much to my pleasant surprise, they treated us to a fancy cover of this tune, as well as "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" --- if you read this, thanks for the song dedication, guys, and my (not so anonymous) confession is that I forgive you for forgetting the name of my blog - totally joking - even my mom forgets the name of it, and she reads it almost daily!!!

If you didn't catch it, I posted about Sunglasses & Sugar mid-June. Check 'em out... they're a super fun band!!

The first time I ever saw the video for this tune was when I acquired a copy of The Malady Lingers On on VHS, from one of the music chains at the mall, which I still own - yep, that's an actual scan of my copy below:

I am also including a scan of the cover of the single because it is such a sweet picture of Morrissey, and c'mon, who doesn't like to look at Morrissey?

And when I was perusing this cover, I realized that Chrissie Hynde (of The Pretenders fame) did harmonies on this song. I have owned this single for years, and I never knew that until now.  How in the world did I miss that one?

And last but not least, I had to add this youtube comment to this post because it absolutely made me chuckle:

"dude this would make the ultimate super cuts commercial"

    1. Awwww shucks! Well, that kind of makes me feel like a Rock Star!!!

Then I suppose I stand corrected: My (not so anonymous) confession is that I forgive Darlington for forgetting the name of my blog... but "I Don't Mind If You Forget Me" --- sneak preview of tomorrow's post? Perhaps, just perhaps!!! ;-)
