Week Seven: Various DFW Area Artists - Adventures of Jet - "End of the Planet" - Part 3: Coping With Insignificance

If you are at all familiar with Adventures of Jet, then you know that they rose from the ashes of their previous band, Bobgoblin.  I know many of my male companions were fans of Bobgoblin, but I could never get into their sound for some reason.  I did, however, love Adventures of Jet, but I'm sure that it had a lot to do with the pop-inspired keyboad sound of the tunes.

I was able to catch an AOJ show at Rick's Place in Denton.  Although, I think it might have been called The Inferno at that time, or whatever they renamed it after a portion of it burnt and was repainted with flames shooting up the sides of the building.

If you ever had the pleasure of stopping by Kharma Cafe, down the street from the club, you would have seen the super-awesome framed Bobgoblin memorabilia on the wall.  You might have even seen the drummer, Rob, hanging out there on occasion.

Do you think he's just a madman?
Hangin out by the newsstand screaming out at everybody, "It's the end!"
I may be losing my mind, but I think he might be right this time.
The bad brains in the boardrooms just might win.
With all of the words, the best that you've heard,
It's all coming down.
Believe... they're more than near.
Alas, they're here!
Can anybody rescue me?
It feels like the end of the planet.
The corporate ships have landed.
They've taken everything and canned it.
It feels like the end of the planet...
Let's drive out to the sunset amd watch them paint the town red.
Get a load of all the mugs on the downtown suits.
It's like they know  made guy, and he put them at his right side.
Oh man, it would be funny if it wasn't so true.
It's getting so late.
I stand here and wait for someone who really cares-
From worlds like ours out in the stars.
Is anybody out there?
It feels like the end of the planet.
The corporate ships have landed.
They've taken everything and canned it.
It feels like the end of the planet...
