Week Sixty-Five: Pandora Picks - Matt & Kim - "Daylight" - Grand

The songs that I have selected for this week were Pandora suggestions based on my She & Him station...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, since Pandora found this band for me, I just don't have a lot to share in regards to the band itself, but Wikipedia can give you some interesting background info:
"Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino both attended Pratt Institute, where they met and began dating. When they first met, neither knew how to play their respective instruments. Matt and Kim wanted to learn their instruments purely for knowledge, having no ambition of creating a band. However, when they began getting a hang of their sound, their friends forced them to perform live. After this first performance, Matt and Kim took off. They played as often as they could, anywhere that would allow them to play. This confined their shows to many basements and other such venues, but it didn't hinder the band's performance and they quickly gained many fans. This inspired the duo to record some of their songs so that their fans could bring the music home. The result was the To/From EP. The band did not slow down and continued to play as often as possible with the release of the EP."
All that I can really add to this is that their videos are very entertaining and cleverly done; so if you ever find that you have some free time on your hands, look them up on YouTube and kill half an hour or so enjoying some good tunes!
We cut the legs off of our pants
Threw our shoes into the ocean
Sit back and wave through the daylight
Sit back and wave through the daylight
Slip and slide on subway grates
These shoes are poor mans ice skates
Fall through like change in the daylight
Fall through like change in the daylight
I miss yellow lines in my roads
Some color on monochrome
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
These sidewalks liquid then stone
Building walls and an old pay phone
It rings like all through the daylight
It rings like all through the daylight
And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home
I have five clocks in my life
And only one has the time right
I'll just unplug it for today
I'll just unplug it for today
Open hydrant rolled down windows
This car might make a good old boat
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight
And with just half of a sunburn
New yellow lines that I earned
Step back and here comes the night time
Step back and here comes the night time
And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home
