Week Thirty-One: Holiday Tunes - The Pretenders - "2000 Miles" - Learning to Crawl

The first time I ever remember hearing this song was on one of the holiday episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 way back in the early '90s. I know that Steve was leaving on a bus - similar to a Greyhound. He just found out that he was adopted. I can't remember who he was going to visit. But everyone is sad watching the bus drive off as this tune was playing, knowing that they won't get to spend the holidays with him.

I remember feeling so heartbroken for the characters. It was an incredibly effective song for the scene. I rushed out and picked up Learning to Crawl not long after watching the episode because I just had to have a copy of this song. It is a really lovely tune... I know I'll eventually have a Pretenders week in the future... so I'll save all of my additional thoughts on this band for then.
