Week Thirty-One: Holiday Tunes - The Brian Setzer Orchestra - "Gettin' in the Mood (for Christmas)" - The Best of Collection: Christmas Rocks!

Leave it to a musical master like Brian Setzer to be able to take a tune like Glenn Miller's "In the Mood" and to make it sound like pure genius with some fabulous Christmas lyrics!!! The Brian Setzer Orchestra is scheduled to play The Christmas Rocks! Extravaganza at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX, on Sunday, December 16th.

I was watching some youtube clips of past shows, and I'm thinking that it would be totally worth it to try to make it to that show. Sadly, I always have so many obligations during this time of year that I am hesitant to purchase tickets just yet; however, the last time I checked Ticketmaster, there were still plenty of them available. If I do get to make it out to Allen that evening, it will be a completely last minute decision to go... but I'll let you know whenever I get around to doing a Stray Cats week if it worked out for me or not... I'm also including another one that was given a rockabilly twist by The Brian Setzer Orchestra - "Let it Snow" - under the lyrics.

Jump into the sleigh we’re gonna rock it tonight
Got my reindeer revved up and we’re ready for flight
Listen all you hotties you know Santa’s the guy
Loves to hear the music blastin’ up to the sky
Headin’ for the mistletoe, my baby and I
It’s Christmas and I’m really gettin’ in the mood

Got my Christmas Creepers and a couple of tats
Tonight I’m celebratin’ with the kitties and kats
All you swingin' people grab your coats and your hats
Santa’s gonna show you where the party is at
I’m cool as any snowman get your mittens on there
It’s Christmas and I’m really gettin’ in the mood

In the mood, sleigh bells are ringin'
In the groove, yeah, the party’s swingin'
In the mood, cause Santa’s bringin'
Boogie woogie rhythm for a Merry Christmas

Come on now, we’re gonna party
I know how, yeah to get it started
In the mood, hey, Santa boogie
Blow that jivin’ music now

Santa’s gonna leave his crib up North at the pole
Dude is always stylin’ that’s the way he rolls
Hurry hang the stockings, when the lights are down low
We’ll listen to some music by Nat King Cole
Baby if you’re ready then I’m ready to blow
It’s Christmas and I’m really gettin’ in the mood

In the mood, sleigh bells are ringin'
In the groove, yeah, the party’s swingin'
In the mood, cause Santa’s bringin'
Boogie woogie rhythm for a Merry Christmas

Come on now, we’re gonna party
I know how, yeah to get it started
In the mood, yeah, Santa boogie
Blow that jivin’ music now

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the joint
Walked a chick in a skirt that did not disappoint
All she wanted for Christmas was a new hot rod car
And a rockabilly kat with a big orange guitar

Two tickets to Vegas he slipped in her hand
Said seven come eleven and Santa’s the man
Her beehive was blown and her skirt was tight
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night

Santa’s gonna leave his crib up North at the pole
Dude is always stylin’ that’s the way he rolls
Hurry hang the stockings, when the lights are down low
We’ll listen to some music by the King & Nat Cole
Baby if you’re ready then I’m ready to blow

In the mood, sleigh bells are ringin'
In the groove, yeah, the party’s swingin'
In the mood, cause Santa’s bringin'
Boogie woogie rhythm for a Merry Christmas

Come on now, we’re gonna party
I know how, yeah to get it started
In the mood, hey Santa boogie
Blow that jivin’ music now
I’m in the mood!
