Week Ninety-Two: Double Takes - Mazzy Star / INXS - "Disappear" - Among My Swan / X

This week, I will be covering songs, by different artists, that share the same title, better known by moi as "Double Takes".

Mazzy Star's song, "Disappear", is actually the tune that inspired "Double Takes" Week. I was not feeling so well this past weekend, and I love listening to Mazzy Star when I feel ill because the music and Hope Sandoval's voice are both so soothing and lullaby-like. When this particular song started up, it just popped into my mind how much I also like INXS's song called "Disappear". Then I became curious about how many other bands share the some song titles, and I went straight to my music library on iTunes to find the answer. There were so many that it was overwhelming, but I will tell you that it is generally song titles that are just one word that are most frequently shared. Again, I will refrain from saying too much about Mazzy Star, at this point in time, because I will definitely have a Mazzy Star Week in the near future. You may, however, remember me mentioning Hope Sandoval when I posted about "Sometimes Always" by The Jesus and Mary Chain.

And backing Mazzy Star will be none other than INXS. Their tune, "Disappear", is also one of my favorites by them, but I could not work it into INXS Week because, if you recall, I covered songs from the albums, Kick and Listen Like Thieves. So I am thrilled to be able to share this one with you today because if you are anything like me, you can never get enough of the deliciousness that is Michael Hutchence. It's so crazy to think that he was just a year older than I when he passed... he is missed dearly!!! After I had already posted about INXS, I found the coolest video for "Mystify" that I am going to include for you today too...
