Week Ninety-Eight: Luck o' the Irish - Snow Patrol - "Chasing Cars" - Eyes Open

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I will be covering Irish artists and bands
(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)

This was another one of those songs that I could not stand when it first came out because it was so overplayed...but it eventually grew on me!

An interesting fact about this band is that they were originally called Polar Bear; however, Eric Avery, ex-bassist for Jane's Addiction, already had a band called Polar Bear, which forced a name change for these Irish lads.

I love the story behind today's song, and I will share it with you, care of Wikipedia:

"The phrase 'Chasing Cars' came from Lightbody's father, in reference to a girl Lightbody was infatuated with, 'You're like a dog chasing a car. You'll never catch it and you just wouldn't know what to do with it if you did.'"

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
would you lie with me and just forget the world?
