Week One Hundred and Four: Marie Antoinette Soundtrack - The Cure - "Plainsong" - Soundtrack

I know that I have already made mention of a few songs off the Marie Antoinette Soundtrack --- like "Ceremony" (New Order), "Kings of the Wild Frontier" (Adam Ant), and "I Want Candy", "Aphrodisiac" and "Fools Rush In" (Bow Wow Wow) --- but there are so many additional songs on that soundtrack that are phenomenal, and I have chosen to cover those for you this week

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, Sofia Coppola decides to commemorate Louis XIV's coronation scene with "Plainsong" by The Cure. It is such a powerful scene when accompanied by the music! Additionally, she uses The Cure's track, "All Cats Are Grey", to conclude the film and to close out the credits. So instead of having a separate clip for that song today, there will only be one included.

I also want to include one more song off the soundtrack to take you into the weekend by Gang of Four called "Natural's Not In It", which was also used in the trailer for the film...

"I think it's dark and it looks like rain" you said
"and the wind is blowing like it's the end of the
world" you said "and it's so cold it's like the
cold if you were dead" and then you smiled for
a second.

"I think I'm old and I'm in pain" you said
"and it's all running out like it's the end of the
world" you said "and it's so cold it's like the
cold if you were dead" and then you smiled for
a second

sometimes you make me feel like I'm living at
the edge of the world like I'm living at the edge
of the world "it's just the way I smile" you said
