One of the coolest things about Gene Loves Jezebel, aside from the fact that it was established by twin brothers, Jay and Michael Aston, is that they are originally from Wales. I went to Wales almost twenty years ago on a summer trip when I was in high school, and I adored it.
What really stuck with me in regard to Wales was how superstitious the people seemed to be, which was A-OK with me since that was during my uber-goth days. It seemed as if there were old gypsy-looking ladies popping out from around every corner, wanting to read my palm or tell my fortune. It was also very dark and dreary for most of our stay, which was right up my alley at that time of my life.
I scanned some pages from my photo album to share with you (remember that they are almost 20 years old, which is why the pages have yellowed quite substantially):

For as many times as Gene Loves Jezebel has made it through Dallas, you would think that I would have seen them more than just once at EdgeFest #2 in 1993, along with Dada and Jellyfish, whom you may remember me posting about a few weeks ago (the two bands that my younger brother and I did not get to see at Six Flags due to the rain).
Today, I will also include some of my other favorites by Gene Loves Jezebel called "Break the Chain", "Josephina" (you can really hear his Welsh accent in this one), and "Kick"...enjoy!!!
