Post #691: U2 - "Beautiful Day" - All That You Can't Leave Behind

So as most people mourn the ending of summer as we move past this Labor Day Weekend, I do just the opposite.  Believe it or not, summer is a time when I hibernate and hide away.  I'm sure it has to do with the suffocating Texas heat, as well as my fair skin (which used to blister from sunburns when I was a kid --- ouch!!!)  Regardless, this time of year is when my spirit and my soul awaken.  I begin to feel a crispness in the air, and I become alive again.

I always start my new planners in the month of September... see here's a picture in the event you don't believe me... nothing but September there thus far...

I also love to redecorate to symbolically give myself a fresh, new start.  This weekend, I started with my living room.  If you've been following this blog, you may recall that I've had a Moulin Rouge/French-theme in my living room since I thought for the longest time that I would mark my 40th year on this planet by travelling to Paris.  Of course, my plans changed, and I was ready for some new decor; so I now have what I refer to as my "den of zen"...

Here's a fun fact for you: I randomly picked out those 7 pillows, but they just so happen to be the colors of the 7 chakras... kind of cool!!!

The only thing left that I have to acquire is this really awesome floor/meditation pillow that I saw when I was out and about.  Then I will spend the rest of this beautiful day relaxing and reflecting on my goals for the upcoming year of my life... so, ummmm, Happy New Year, I guess!!!

Hope you enjoy U2's "Beautiful Day" as a form of celebration!!!

Until next time...

XOXOXO
Anastasia

The heart is a bloom, shoots up through stony ground
But there's no room, no space to rent in this town
You're out of luck and the reason that you had to care,
The traffic is stuck and you're not moving anywhere.
You thought you'd found a friend to take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand in return for grace

It's a beautiful day, the sky falls
And you feel like it's a beautiful day
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road but you've got no destination
You're in the mud, in the maze of her imagination
You love this town even if it doesn't ring true
You've been all over and it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

Touch me, take me to that other place
Teach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colours came out
It was a beautiful day
A beautiful day
Don't let it get away

Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
You don't need it now, you don't need it now
Beautiful day

Post #690: Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes - "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" - Dirty Dancing Soundtrack

So I just returned from the trip of a lifetime where I visited Mountain Lake Lodge (a/k/a Kellerman's) where Dirty Dancing was filmed.  This year celebrates the 30th anniversary of Dirty Dancing, and I have loved that movie since I was a little girl.  Even cooler is that I got to stay in Room 232, which is the same room that Patrick Swayze stayed in during the filming --- Google it if you don't believe me!!!

Along the way, I stopped in Nashville and visited the Patsy Cline Museum and the Grand Ole Opry.  On the way back, I visited Elvis at Graceland for the 40th anniversary of his passing.  If you have any interest in checking out my travel adventures, you can do so here: https://stuffstacysees.blogspot.com/

I'll post some of my pictures from Kellerman's for you...

(Google Maps took me in from the back entrance; so this was not the first view I saw, but this is the first view in the film.)

(This is the porch area where I enjoyed my breakfast and where Dr. Houseman announced to the family that they would be leaving early.)

(Proof that I was in Room 232 and a view from inside Room 232... I also happened to be there on August 18th, which is Patrick Swayze's birthday.)

(A stone monument to commemorate Patrick Swayze's legacy.)

For even more fun photos of Kellerman's, visit my other blog at the link above.  In the meantime, enjoy the final scene from Dirty Dancing... It still makes the ten-year-old girl inside of me giddy with happiness to this very day!!!  ❤❤❤

Until next time...

Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
and I owe it all to you
I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone
To stand by me
We saw the writing on the wall
As we felt this magical fantasy
Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it secretly
So we take each other's hand
'Cause we seem to understand the urgency
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because
I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
With my body and soul
I want you more than you'll ever know
So we'll just let it go
Don't be afraid to lose control
Yes I know what's on your mind
When you say:
"Stay with me tonight."
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because
'Cause I had the time of my life
No I've never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
and I've searched through every open door
Till I found the truth
and I owe it all to you
Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
No I've never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I had the time of my life
and I've searched through every open door
Till I've found the truth
and I owe it all to you

Post #689: Elvis Presley - "Follow that Dream" - Follow that Dream Soundtrack

In one week, I will be following a childhood dream as I pull up to Graceland to visit the spirit of all that is Elvis.  In case you didn't know, the 40th anniversary of his death will be commemorated this Wednesday, August 16th.

In the meantime, I've "Got a Lot O' Livin' to Do"... so I'll include that one too!!

Until next time...

Follow that dream, I gotta follow that dream
Keep a-movin, move along, keep a moving
I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

When your heart gets restless, time to move along
When your heart gets weary, time to sing a song
But when a dream is calling you,
There's just one thing that you can do

Well, you gotta follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
You gotta follow that dream to find the love you need

Keep a-movin, move along, keep a moving

Got to find me someone whose heart is free
Someone to look for my dream with me
And when I find her I may find out
Just what my dreams are all about

I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

Keep a-movin, move along
Keep a-movin, move along
Keep a-movin, move along
