Post #689: Elvis Presley - "Follow that Dream" - Follow that Dream Soundtrack

In one week, I will be following a childhood dream as I pull up to Graceland to visit the spirit of all that is Elvis.  In case you didn't know, the 40th anniversary of his death will be commemorated this Wednesday, August 16th.

In the meantime, I've "Got a Lot O' Livin' to Do"... so I'll include that one too!!

Until next time...

XOXOXO

Follow that dream, I gotta follow that dream
Keep a-movin, move along, keep a moving
I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

When your heart gets restless, time to move along
When your heart gets weary, time to sing a song
But when a dream is calling you,
There's just one thing that you can do

Well, you gotta follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
You gotta follow that dream to find the love you need

Keep a-movin, move along, keep a moving

Got to find me someone whose heart is free
Someone to look for my dream with me
And when I find her I may find out
Just what my dreams are all about

I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

I've got to follow that dream wherever that dream may lead
I've got to follow that dream to find the love I need

Keep a-movin, move along
Keep a-movin, move along
Keep a-movin, move along

Post #688: Cat Power - "The Greatest" - My Blueberry Nights Soundtrack

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted, huh? Many, many things have happened over this past month. I've started therapy. I know I've talked about it quite a bit over the course of the past year. I've also moved my vacation up by a full month. If you have any interest, you can keep up with my travels at this link:  http://stuffstacysees.blogspot.com.

So, as I was working on the timeline that I have been asked to bring to my 2nd therapy appointment tomorrow, today's song came on my Pandora station.  I haven't come across many people who have seen the film, My Blueberry Nights, but in case you cared, it stars Texas' very own Norah Jones.  She attended UNT at the same time I was there.

Well, I better get back to working on my timeline.  I also can't wait to give you all the details about my trip upon my return; however, until then, you can also enjoy two (2) of my other favorites, which are covers by Cat Power, called "Sea of Love", which appeared on the soundtrack for the film, Juno, and "I've Been Loving You Too Long"...

Until next time...

Once I wanted to be the greatest
No wind or waterfall could stall me
And then came the rush of the flood
Stars at night turned deep to dust

Melt me down
Into big black armour
Leave no trace of grace
Just in your honor
Lower me down
Culprit south
Make 'em wash a space in town
For the lead
And the dregs of my bed
I've been sleeping
Lower me down
Pin me in
Secure the grounds
For the later parade

Once I wanted to be the greatest
Two fists of solid rock
With brains that could explain any feeling

Lower me down
Pin me in
Secure the grounds
For the lead
And the dregs of my bed
I've been sleeping
For the later parade

Once I wanted to be the greatest
No wind or waterfall could stall me
And then came the rush of the flood
The stars at night turned deep to dust

One perfect morning I was all alone
listening to the blaze of summer
drifting
I was falling
I was floating in a golden haze
breathing in the sky blue sounds
of memories of other days

And in my dreams I was a child
flowers in my mouth and in my eyes
and I was floating through the colours of a sky
up to the stars and angels

up up up to heaven
up up up forever
up up up to heaven
up up up forever

Turning in my climb
I looked down on a lake
and traced upon the water there
I saw your face
and sang in recollection
of the times we shared...
then pushed on ever upward to the sky

And in my dreams I was a child
flowers in my mouth and in my eyes
and I was floating through the colours of a sky
up to the stars and angels

up up up to heaven
up up up forever
up up up to heaven
up up up forever
