**As an after-thought, I wanted to add that I met up with one of my favorite former Paralegal professors over vacation just to run a few things past him, and he imparted some of the best advice that I have received in ages: "Find your favorite Stacy & set her free." ** 

So with that... highly intelligent, super nerdy, completely introverted, and a little bit dark Stacy is by far my favorite version, and I fully intend to set myself free!!  And yes, I am wearing a tank top, not just a bra (you pervs)!!  Enjoy!!

Post #649: The Everly Brothers - "All I Have To Do Is Dream" - Single

So I finally took a few days of vacation to unwind a bit, and although I had intended to spend a long weekend in Galveston sitting on the beach and relaxing, a forecast of rain for the entire weekend spoiled my plans.  So I was forced to remain in town and have a "stay-cation" instead.  It was probably for the best in the long run.  

Of course this meant tons of music and reading and time to myself.  One song that I kept hearing over and over on my Pandora Mix, as well as on my iPod while in *shuffle* mode and even on one of my Sirius satellite stations when I was out running errands, was this one by The Everly Brothers.  

I've heard it so many times over the course of my lifetime, so even though it's so darn sweet and catchy, I often just dismiss it. However, for some reason, this time it made me recall this Drew Barrymore film that I used to adore called Riding in Cars with Boys.  I'll include the scene below:

Sadly, the film is not currently available for streaming on Netflix, but I know I have seen it there before.  It is so worth the watch if it ever shows up again.  Somehow, I missed the fact that it is based on a novel, so I am stoked about grabbing a copy and reading such.

I'm fairly certain I added this tune to one of the Honorary Valentine's Day Playlists that I made a long, long time ago.  However, it never got it's very own post, so what the hey... I'll break the rules for a fantastic song.  Another one that has been showing up on Sirius a lot lately is "Let It Be Me", which I will also include for you today.  So feel free to just skip to that one if you must...

I saw this visual the other day, and it made me smirk; therefore, I would like to share such with you:

Ha! It's so very, very spot on.  Sign me up for an international romance... and just like in "Jane Says", I have often uttered the words:  "I'm going away to Spain; When I get my money saved; I'm gonna start tomorrow"... and anyone who truly knows me would know just how much I love my pad thai...

Post #643: Lana Del Rey - "Young and Beautiful" - The Great Gatsby Soundtrack

So I remember seeing the previews for The Great Gatsby back in 2013 when I caught another film at The Angelika and thinking that I had to see it; however, since my life consistently seems to be jam-packed, I somehow missed it.  Thank goodness for Netflix and the accompanying DVD delivery service because I finally got around to watching it last night.  I completely forgot that it was directed by Baz Luhrmann, who also directed Moulin Rouge, so the cinematography and visuals were both stunning and utterly breathtaking at certain points. 

One of the main tunes in the film is this one by Lana Del Rey.  It doesn't seem like many people gave her music much of chance, but I think she's okay.  I mean, I wouldn't add her to my top 20, probably not even my top 50 (if you want to know the truth), but I don't skip her songs if they show up on Pandora or anything of that nature.

Alrighty, well I seem to be rambling, and as usual, I have a ton of stuff to accomplish with my long weekend; so with that, I leave you with "Young and Beautiful"...
