Post #623: Corinne Bailey Rae - "Put Your Records On" - Corinne Bailey Rae

Sorry that I have been out of touch... I've been enjoying life for the first time in a very long time!!  You have no idea how amazing it is to be able to keep my blinds open without neighbors peeping in all day.  Oh my goodness, and to be able to back in and out of my garage without having to maneuver around my neighbors' cars has been nothing less than heavenly!!!

Since some of you have been asking, here are a few quick snapshots of my new place:

BALCONY VIEWS

But that's not even the best part... the best part is that I got my grandmother's 1988 Murray bicycle tuned-up and outfitted with brand new whitewall tires.  So, inspired by today's song and video, I am about to take a spin around the lake...  Hope life is treating you well these days, too!

[***And as a life bonus (or possibly Karma points), my landlord took one look at my old place, told me that he could not believe how amazing it still looked after living there for eight (8) years, and proceeded to return every penny of my $500 deposit... I stood there with my mouth completely gaping wide open!!!***]

Until next time...

XOXOXO
Anastasia

Three little birds sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in a bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.

Maybe sometimes we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

'Twas more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise, that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Oh, you're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow
