Post #622: Million Dollar Quartet - "I Shall Not Be Moved/Down By The Riverside/Is It So Strange" - Million Dollar Quartet

So today, I treated myself to an early performance of Million Dollar Quartet.  Dallas Summer Musicals presented it for one weekend only, and I jumped at the chance to finally see it!

If you are not familiar with said musical, then I'll let Wikipedia fill you in on the details:

"Million Dollar Quartet is a recording of an impromptu jam session involving Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash made on December 4, 1956, at the Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. An article about the session was published in the Memphis Press-Scimitar under the title 'Million Dollar Quartet'. The recording was first released in Europe in 1981 as The Million Dollar Quartet with 17 tracks. A few years later more tracks were discovered and released as The Complete Million Dollar Session. In 1990, the recordings were released in the United States as Elvis Presley - The Million Dollar Quartet. This session is considered a seminal moment in rock and roll history."

I am including three (3) tracks (the third one is because Elvis mentions Faron Young, and I adore Faron Young!!) from the actual recording session, but if you ever get the chance to see the musical, you should totally go... I promise you won't regret it!!!

Post #620: Bryan Adams - "Heaven" - Reckless

This one goes out to all of the broken-hearted people of the world as we celebrate the upcoming "Weekend of Love".... hang in there... it won't hurt forever... it will get better with time... I promise!!!

Before I leave you, I will share some heartwarming Bryan Adams trivia with you.  Apparently, he took up photography at some point, and he is the one who is responsible for some of the most iconic photos of Amy Winehouse.  I've read in multiple media sources that he was always very kind to her and was so supportive along the way... and that makes him one of the "good guys" in my book:

I heard this one on the way home from work this evening... and it's simply too beautiful not to share with you.  I seriously cannot help sobbing every time I hear it.  So, as we embark on the month of February, whether you choose to believe me or not, my greatest hope and dream for each and every one of you (and I sincerely do mean each and every one) is that you one day find the love for which you have been searching...
